Maui County Disaster Expo

On June 2nd, 2018, some Maui Amateur Radio Club (MARC) members spent a few hours at the local mall in Kahului with an ARRL table in support of the 2018 Maui County Disaster Expo. The Amateur Radio table was organized by Joe Bardwell (AH6CU) and Anita Bardwell, (AH6AH), with help from by MARC members Bill Heyde (KH6UU) and Alan Maenchen, (AD6E/KH6TU). About 15 passerby's signed up as interested in Field Day.


 
Kimo Chun (KH7U) inducted into CQ's DX Hall of Fame

At the Dayton Ohio DX Dinner, one our own, Kimo Chun (KH7U) was inducted into CQ's DX Hall of Fame, an award well earned for his contribution to so many DX-peditions in the Pacific. Kimo is the current President of the Koolau Amateur Radio Club (KARC) and contributes to mentoring many new hams into DXing.


 
Rick Ward (WH6FC) Receives ARRL VE Award

Rick Ward (WH6FC) was recognized by ARRL VEC Manager Maria Somma (AB1FM) for participating in one-hundred VE session. Rick's effort in helping license and mentor literally hundreds of hams on the Big Island is an example of community service to be recognized by all. He has also been very active in the CERTS program.
